In January 2020, the Victorian Government announced a Bushfire Recovery Round of Regional Events Fund to help kickstart the recovery of regions affected by the summer’s devastating bushfires. Applications for grants under this fund opened today.
Only events being held in the 15 Local Government Areas (LGAs) declared as eligible for support under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recover funding are eligible to apply for the grants. Locally, this means the Shires of Alpine, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong and Wangaratta.
Grants of up to $20,000 are available to assist with the costs of securing, hosting and marketing of new events, or to implement strategies to increase visitation to existing events. Applications for grants must be made by 27 March 2020 and approved events must commence before 30 June 2021.
