Tourism North East (TNE) is the peak regional tourism organisation for Victoria’s High Country, charged with driving the strategic growth of the region’s $2.3B+ visitor economy.
TNE is an independent non-profit organisation, formed through a partnership between local councils, Alpine Resort Victoria, the Victorian State Government and the High Country’s tourism industry.
The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors that has responsibility for developing the long-term and overarching strategic vision and direction for the High Country region, ensuring a platform for future tourism growth. An independent Chair leads the Board, which consists of skills-based directors, local government CEO’s and alpine resort management General Managers and a representative from the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions within the Victorian Government.
TNE is currently seeking a skills-based Director with a strong background and expertise in Finance, Commercial Business and/or Audit functions to join its Board.
The position requires the ability to apply strategic thought on a regional level, and drive excellent governance practices. Expertise in tourism, government advocacy and destination development are particularly relevant.
The skills based roles on the board of directors are appointed based on overall skills and are not appointed representing geographic locations or industry sectors. Board directors are voluntary positions.
