Tourism North East’s three-year strategy is built on achieving positive triple bottom line (Environmental, Social, and Economic) outcomes for Victoria’s High Country.
By focusing on being a "future-fit" destination, the organisation aims to ensure that tourism growth doesn't just happen, but happens sustainably.
KEY TARGETS:
- Economic Growth: Scale the visitor economy from $2.3 Billion (2023) to a projected $5.9 Billion by 2033
- Shift in Identity: Transition the High Country’s reputation from a quick weekend getaway to a true holiday destination
- Visitor Behavior: Increase the percentage of overnight stays and boost the average spend per visitor across all market segment
The plan emphasises collaboration, acknowledging that reaching these ambitious goals requires a unified effort from stakeholders at all levels of government, local businesses, and the community.
