The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is reviewing the statewide licensing policy and fee framework for tour operators and activity providers operating on public land, and are now seeking industry feedback on the proposed policy updates.
The review will modernise tour operator licensing to make it simpler, fairer and more efficient, while supporting safe, sustainable and high-quality recreation and tourism. Applying across five public land Acts, it will replace fee regulations expiring in June 2026 and support nature-based tourism that respects Traditional Owners, Custodians and First Nations people.
DEECA is now seeking industry feedback on the proposed statewide fee regulations and draft policy. Tour operators and activity providers are invited to complete one or both surveys and/or make a written submission.
