Business Victoria has released the details of the Regional Travel Voucher Scheme that will provide eligible Victorians a financial incentive to explore the state.
Three rounds of 40,000 vouchers will be offered to Victorian residents to contribute to the costs of accommodation, tourism attractions or tours undertaken in regional Victoria, the Yarra Ranges and the Mornington Peninsula.
The program will launch with Round 1 opening on 11 December 2020 at 10am. For eligible travel dates refer to the Business Victoria website.
Visitors are responsible for securing their vouchers prior to travel through the Business Victoria website. The program works on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis and each round will close once all places have been filled for that particular round.
Voucher recipients must spend at least $400 on accommodation, attractions or tours during their stay. On presentation of their receipts via the voucher portal during the claim period, the visitor will be eligible to receive a reimbursement of $200.
The only requirement on operators is to provide visitors with a Tax Invoice or receipt. This will enable the visitor to make their reimbursement claim.
For eligible inclusions, voucher issue and redemption, and payment dates refer to the Business Victoria website.
