Join the Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) on Tuesday 16 April to explore what’s on the horizon for Victoria’s visitor economy. With the theme of ‘Focus on Growth – the $16 Billion Opportunity’, this year’s Vision Summit will focus on key factors that will influence industry achieving the expected growth in total tourism spend over the next four years.

VTIC is partnering with Tourism Australia and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to provide an engaging and comprehensive program of speakers sharing insights on the future of Victoria’s visitor economy.

With the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2024 coming to Melbourne this May, this will be a valuable opportunity for industry to hear about the plans of our national and state marketing bodies on how they will be promoting Victoria to influential buyers and media from across the globe, and how tourism operators can leverage this activity.

Other keynote speakers will feature across the day, with Melbourne Airport providing insights from the second generation of their research project on the changing face of travellers to Victoria. Melbourne Arts Precinct Corporation (MAPCo) will present a vision that will redefine and reimagine Melbourne’s enviable position as Australia’s cultural capital, and the 7.5% short stay accommodation tax proposed to come into effect from January 2025 will be debated and discussed, looking at the efficacy of a tax to discourage owners from putting their properties on the short-term rental market.

To close the day, VTIC will be hosting networking drinks for delegates, speakers and partners, giving much-needed time to connect with colleagues and reflect on the day.
